Purina awarded a $25,000 grant to Friends of the Animal Shelter to fund a new veterinary clinic as construction of the animal shelter on South Belt Highway moves ahead, with completion scheduled for summer (2026).

AFL-CIO opened its Adopt-A-Family Gift Room on Wednesday morning to serve families with gifts that span clothing, household items, toys, and stocking stuffers.

The program served 80 families and still awaits more adopters and donations to help the 22 families on its waitlist.
