- ➤ Community Missions has opened a hot weather shelter in St. Joseph that provides an air-conditioned space and essential services for more than 400 homeless individuals. The shelter is open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.—offering food, counseling, case management, and housing assistance to those in need. KQ2
- ➤ Local Facebook users who have used a spot next to the East Hills Library for nearly a decade now must find a new meeting place—after the City Council approved a contract for a transit station on that lot—due to the planned transit station. The group, which sees between 30 and 50 cars on Monday nights, will soon explore options with local churches, businesses or community buildings. KQ2

- ➤ A 51-year-old man driving a Honda and his 49-year-old passenger were taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Business 71 near Country Club on Sunday just before 8 p.m.—the driver did not yield when turning onto northbound Interstate 29 while a 21-year-old woman in a Ford was not hurt, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
