The championship used to be played in Cape Girardeau. Sports Commission Director Brett Esely said bringing it to St. Joseph gives local teams a shorter trip. Oak Grove and Liberty Mountain View played here in August at the Pony Express preview tournament. "That's exactly why we created that event, to give teams the opportunity to experience the venue they're trying to get to at the end of the year," Esely said.
Rock Port, Mid-Buchanan and Oak Grove play semifinals at Civic Arena
| Team | Opponent | When |
|---|---|---|
| Rock Port (Class 1) | Billings | Wed., 2 p.m. |
| Mid-Buchanan (Class 2) | New Covenant Academy | Wed., 6 p.m. |
| Oak Grove (Class 3) | Nevada | Fri., 8 p.m. |
