- ➤ Friends of Rolling Hills Library are selling the Cake Lady and Friends cookbook for $12 at Belt + Savannah Branches; funds will support the summer reading program. The Belt Branch will close in February for a move to a new Riverside location with a grand opening planned for April. St. Joseph Post
- ➤ The St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce celebrates Personally Yours, a local business that brings Santa magic with in-home visits, photo sessions, and holiday parties. The celebration takes place today at 4 p.m. at East Hills Shopping Center (Belt Highway and Frederick Avenue). KQ2
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Missouri Western State University will host its 2nd Annual Education Day on Dec. 15 and Dec. 16, offering 11 a.m. tip-offs and free rally towels to over 5,000 elementary and middle school students at MoWest’s Fieldhouse - with kid-focused halftime shows and Hazel’s Coffee serving beverages for adults. - ➤ Missouri Western held its Education Game on Dec. 8, 2025 when sophomore guard Josh Book rang the victory bell, and the university will host its 2nd Annual Education Day basketball games bringing area elementary schools together. KQ2
- ➤ At a Monday night work session, the St. Joseph School District Board reviewed salary revisions for a new $15 minimum wage (effective Jan. 1) and finalized new attendance boundaries; families will be informed about transfer exceptions and placements set at a meeting Monday, Dec. 22 at the Troester Media Center.
