- ➤ St. Joseph Mustangs and Bode Ice Arena have partnered to turn the red box between Bode and Phil Welch Stadium into a mini food pantry to help feed neighbors during the ongoing government shutdown. Mustangs owner Ky Turner said the program tracks food taken and accepts nonperishable items, and it may continue if the shutdown persists. St. Joseph Post
- ➤ The AFL-CIO Community Services in St. Joseph is seeking volunteers for its Adopt-A-Family program, asking for 15 shoppers at North Belt Walmart on Dec. 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and for additional help with organizing the Gift Room from Dec. 15 through 24, delivering gifts on Dec. 18-19, and taking photos—volunteers may call 816-364-1131 or email [email protected]. - ➤ Residents honored area veterans today with a parade downtown where 300 high school cadets from Central, Lafayette, and Benton showed their respect. Lt. Colonel David Jones, Jr.—who leads the school district ROTC program—and Paul Gatewood, chair of the Joint Military Committee, praised the cadets for keeping this long-standing tradition alive. - ➤ The St. Joseph School Board paused Plan E after Monday’s meeting to examine two options for high school setups—Plan 2B to keep Lafayette and Central and Plan 7B to adjust Benton/Hyde and Central. Board President LaTonya Williams said the board will study community input and district finances before deciding on a new model. KQ2

- ➤ The FDA announced a recall on Oct. 28 for Lisdexamfetamine Dimesylate Capsules after tests showed the 60 mg capsules did not dissolve properly—patients taking the medication should contact their doctor or pharmacy for guidance. KQ2
