- ➤ Unique Creations, a local salon, is reviving its annual (Haircuts from the Heart) event for veterans on Tuesday, November 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at (3601 Faraon Street) in St. Joseph where veterans will receive free haircuts. KQ2
- ➤ Marine veteran Don Crigger from St. Joseph served in Vietnam and teamed with Navy Corpsman Tony Colgan to send a letter about the war—after discovering they shared a hometown. His mom submitted the letter to the local newspaper—sparking supportive responses that have inspired him to urge a thank you for all who served as Veterans Day nears. KQ2
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Sunday, three adults graduated from the Excel Adult High School program at East Hills Library—backed by the St. Joseph Public Library and Missouri State Library funding. Shawnee Churchill, Zoe McGee, and Rachel Reid received their diplomas, caps and gowns, and specialized certificates during a ceremony that featured music by Lafayette High School bands and a keynote speech by Dr. Jeff Poet of MoWest.
