COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Project crews began repairing the Krug Park castle this fall as part of a $12.7 million tax-funded project that will restore the exterior, upgrade the interior and nearby playground area, and install ADA-accessible pathways—work set to continue until 2027 while city crews also start hanging Christmas lights for the Holiday Park show. - ➤ Over 65 young professionals joined the Chamber's kickoff event in July to build their network here. The program continues with a luncheon on November 19th at the Stoney Creek Hotel and Conference Center where they will discuss career growth—tickets cost 20 dollars. St. Joseph Post
- ➤ City crews from the Fire Department, Police and the Red Cross held a Community Safety Fair a few weeks ago in St. Joseph—installing nine smoke detectors and setting appointments for more to help families stay safe. The event also saw cleanup efforts by the Parks Department and plans for another fair in April to further support the community. KQ2

- ➤ Heartland Media and News-Press & Gazette Company today announced a Shared Services Agreement—combining NPG’s resources with KQTV’s operations to strengthen local news in St Joseph. The deal will cut duplicate work and allow more focus on local journalism that has served our community for over 70 years. KQ2
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The St. Joseph City Council passed an ordinance to upgrade the Joyce Ray Patterson 50+ Activity Center elevator because it is nearly 40 years old and has frequent maintenance issues—ensuring safe access for patrons. The project costs $239,955.84, with up to $35,000 from the Senior Citizen foundation, and construction will start after the foundation votes on the interior design. KQ2
