EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Bushman Planetarium at Missouri Western State University will host a child-friendly double feature at 7 p.m. on October 24th+showing 'Secret of the Cardboard Rocket' and 'Moon Witch' in Room 147 of Agenstein Hall. Tickets cost $5 for adults and $3 for children 13 and under and must be purchased in advance.  KQ2

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The St. Joseph Parks and Recreation Department is working on 18 projects including major renovations at John Lucas Park and upgrades at Krug Park's historic castle—expected to finish by 2027 or 2028. Parks Director Jeff Atkins said the improvements will make the parks more accessible and inviting for community use.  KQ2

HEALTH NEWS

  • St. Joseph native Steven Goben, a Vietnam War veteran who served as an infantryman in 1968, will return to Vietnam in February 2026 through a therapeutic program that helps veterans heal and honor fallen comrades (he said the trip will help him pay tribute to friends who never came home).  KQ2
