- ➤ St. Joseph native Simon Garelick, a World War II veteran, was laid to rest in Kansas City after his remains were returned on October 2nd and his family and military officials honored his long wait, marking a poignant homecoming after being declared missing in action. A headstone will be designed and erected next year to permanently memorialize him. KQ2
