COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Local school communities in St. Joseph came together after a mom of four died Tuesday night during a football game in Maryville (her name will be shared later). The school district set up counseling at Bode, Robidoux, and Ellison schools and organized a meal train to help the family. KQ2
- ➤ The American Red Cross in Greater Kansas City and northwest Missouri urged Saint Joseph residents during National Preparedness Month to create emergency plans and inspect their home heating systems. Executive Director JoAnn Woody advised families to review escape routes and gather essential supplies like water and nonperishable food–steps meant to help prevent injuries from home fires and other emergencies. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The St. Joseph Community Chorus will kick off its 45th anniversary season with a performance of Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass on October 12 at 3 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church — featuring a 65-voice chorus, a full orchestra led by Dr. Timothy Tharaldson and four soloists. Tickets cost $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and are free for students, and can be purchased at the door or online. KQ2

7 AM – 1 PM — Civic Center Park — Registration required — Experience the scenic full, half, 10K, and 5K marathon routes through St. Joseph, showcasing landmarks and community spirit.

5 PM – 5 PM — Pony Express National Museum — Free entry — Celebrate autumn with live entertainment, carnival rides, and the spectacular lighting of the Great Pumpkin Mountain.
