ECONOMY NEWS

  • The St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce will host a community job fair from 3 to 6 p.m. on September 23 at Stoney Creek Hotel & Conference Center as part of its new focus on workforce development this fall. The chamber will also run Manufacturing Day on October 2 and the My Success event for local students on October 14-15 at Civic Arena to boost job opportunities.  St. Joseph Post

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Jason Eslinger confirmed his plan today to defend his District II seat—he cited his passion for St. Joseph and his efforts to address city cleanliness. He will run for re-election on the 2026 ballot and candidates can pick up petitions at City Hall's City Clerk office from October 7th to October 28th.  KQ2
  • Buchanan County will close the downtown courthouse after lunch on Friday for installing and testing a natural gas generator and will keep it closed Monday with business resuming Tuesday, the 23rd—jail visitations are not allowed during this time.  St. Joseph Post
  • The City of St. Joseph announced that Frederick Avenue will be closed between 15th Street and 17th Street at Kemper starting at 7 a.m. today for water line replacement work—crews have been replacing the line for several weeks and the street will reopen Friday at 5 p.m. with additional closures and detours expected during the week of September 22.  KQ2

SPORTS NEWS

  • The St. Joseph Mustangs have partnered with Sonic to let fans create a new team-inspired drink. Fans can comment on the team's social media post to submit flavor ideas—owner Ky Turner said the plan invites community input.  KQ2
