COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Second Harvest Community Food Bank is inviting St. Joseph residents to help fight hunger by dining out at local restaurants from September 16th through 18th as a portion of the proceeds will support neighbors in need. Local businesses are also joining a Corporate Food Fight+ collecting food and donations to help those who struggle with food insecurity. KQ2
- ➤ Knot-4-Profit and Angela Clark State Farm will host a Pickleball tournament on September 13 and 14 at Parkway Distillery in downtown St. Joseph—games start at 1:00 p.m. on the 13th and winners compete at 6:00 p.m. on the 14th—to raise funds for the St. Jude Children's Hospital Run for a Reason campaign. - ➤ Renovations at Krug Park began earlier this year with demolition and digging, but one visitor said little work is visible. Parks and Recreation said hidden tasks—like reconnecting electricity and planning ADA upgrades—are underway while delays from endangered bats push completion to 2027. KQ2
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A 72-year-old St. Joseph man was injured in an accident just before 9:30 p.m. Saturday when his 2007 Harley Davidson left the road, struck a fallen tree and overturned on State Route K one mile south of Amazonia—he wore a helmet and Andrew County EMS transported him to Mosaic Life Care. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ MoWest has named Dr. Tilo Roy, Dr. Michael Charlton, and Suzanne Kissock to permanent leadership roles in St. Joseph. Dr. Roy will lead the Office of Applied Learning, Grants, and Graduate Programming — Dr. Charlton will manage academic support services and Kissock will serve as dean of the College of Business and Professional Studies.
