- ➤ On Saturday, September 6, Mosaic Life Care Foundation held its annual Ignite event to raise funds for maternal health and newborn care in our community. The event drew 450 supporters who enjoyed food, a live auction and music—part of the foundation’s effort to improve healthcare access for mothers and babies. KQ2
- ➤ Motorcycle groups, led by the VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System's Centenarian Team, held a drive-by tribute early Saturday, September 6, at Field Point Assisted Living’s parking lot in St. Joseph for World War II Navy veteran Carl 'Dave' Paden, who turned 105 on August 27—he has long loved motorcycles and classic cars. His son Gary said the family felt honored as many riders paid their respects to mark this milestone. KQ2

- ➤ A woman was arrested Saturday, September 6, on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after striking multiple vehicles on Savannah Avenue at 10:57 a.m.—police said no injuries were reported and she refused medical treatment. KQ2

- ➤ Public health experts said that red meat allergies caused by tick bites have risen in Kansas and Missouri because warmer summers allowed ticks to thrive. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Central Indians held the Benton Cardinals to almost no points on Saturday night at Missouri Western State University and turned a two-score lead into a 43 to 6 win — Central will travel to face Grandview next Friday while the Cardinals will meet Lafayette Irish.
