ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Friday, a bus from Olivet Baptist Church flipped on northbound I-29 near SE Grand DD—emergency personnel responded while several juveniles were taken to the hospital with moderate to serious injuries.  KQ2

EDUCATION NEWS

  • After heavy rain delayed progress, workers began laying new turf at Noyes Field at Central High School in St. Joseph and have been working overtime to address issues caused by saturated clay. The team plans to complete the project in 14 to 17 days—before the September 19 home game against North Kansas City.  St. Joseph Post

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Missouri Highway Patrol urges safe travel during Labor Day weekend by warning drivers to plan ahead and use a designated driver if they drink—officials reported that last year 17 people died and 110 DUI arrests were made, so motorists should report reckless driving or unsecured children in vehicles—as officers will patrol roads from 6 p.m. today until Monday midnight.  St. Joseph Post
