- ➤ A motorcycle club held a bike rally at St. Joe Harley Davidson on Saturday to raise funds for young Charlie who was born with congenital diaphragmatic hernia and recently received a tracheostomy after treatment at Children’s Mercy. Russ Jumps, president of the Booze Fighters and an extended family member, organized the event that raised about $4,000 to help with care costs. KQ2
- ➤ East Hills Shopping Center in St. Joseph hosted its annual Back-to-School, End of Summer Party today with free carousel rides, a scavenger hunt, and a dance party theme that entertained around 300 families (while parents shopped tax-free). - ➤ The St. Joseph Fire Department fought a structure fire on Saturday, August 2 after A-shift crews from Engine 12—Engine 9—Engine 4—Truck 7—Rescue 1—Rescue 10—and Battalion 23 responded and rescued one person while the cause remains unknown. KQ2
- ➤ On Saturday, August 2 at 8:45 p.m., a 1997 Blue Mercury Grand Marquis collided with a 2011 Red Ford Fiesta near 18th and Grand causing minor injuries and both drivers were taken to Mosaic Life Care—road clearance was completed by 9:25 p.m. KQ2
- ➤ A 49-year-old driver and three teen passengers were taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph after a Hyundai left Interstate 29, swerved into a wooded area due to a medical emergency just before 7:30 p.m. Friday in Holt County—officials confirmed all were properly restrained. St. Joseph Post

- ➤ St. Patrick’s Fiesta entered its second day in St. Joseph today — celebrating Latin-American culture with live music, horseback riding, cultural performances, and international foods. - ➤ Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed that all metro areas in Missouri experienced higher unemployment in June and St. Joseph’s rate rose to 4.5% from 4% in May—up from 4.2% a year ago. The statewide rate increased to 4.4% from 3.9% in May. St. Joseph Post
