- ➤ Cell 8 at the St. Joseph Landfill opened Tuesday morning after an accelerated three-year construction period shortened by hiring the contractor MCON. The new cell will first take household trash and is expected to last three to five years as landfill staff begin work on Cell 9. KQ2
- ➤ Battalion Chief Paris Jenkins retired after 44 years at the St. Joseph Fire Department. Fire Chief Ivan Klippenstein said Jenkins will visit the station occasionally — sharing his expertise with firefighters. KQ2

- ➤ Today, Kingsley Suamataia switched from left tackle to left guard at the Kansas City Chiefs training camp held at Missouri Western State University in extreme heat; coach Andy Reid praised his work while several players (Jeffrey Bassa and Jake Briningstool) left practice with injuries. - ➤ At the MIAA Football Media Day on Monday, preseason polls for the 2025 season were released—Missouri Western was picked seventh in the coaches poll while Northwest was chosen sixth.
