- ➤ St. Patrick Church will host its 56th annual fiesta starting August 1—with events at St. James Parish Gym from 5—10 p.m. featuring traditional Mexican food, live auctions, and performances by Mariachi Fuego and Stranded in the City, and on August 2 at the church with Latin American cuisine, kids’ activities, and a folkloric dancing show featuring dancing horses; the event is free and open to the public. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office arrested two fugitives on Thursday at an apartment on 1810 Clay Street in St. Joseph after a search warrant uncovered fentanyl, methamphetamine, two handguns, and an AR-15 style rifle — one suspect faces charges for failing to appear along with unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action with a $1,000,000 bond.
