- ➤ MEGA Gymnastics & Cheer celebrated its 15th anniversary on July 12 by hosting an open house — free food and activities welcomed local families. Owner Mandy Miller and new director Payton Fisher highlighted the event and shared plans to grow the program in the future. KQ2
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday morning, families filled the gym at the Robert Keatley Center in St. Joseph to honor graduates from the Adult Education and Literacy program. The diverse group included 56-year-old David Dobbins, a former truck driver who earned his High School Equivalency certificate and encouraged others to begin their learning journey. KQ2
- ➤ The InspireU Children's Discovery Center in downtown St. Joseph hosted nearly 50,000 visitors in its first six months and staff add new programs daily such as music and movement activities, interactive story time, and rooftop bubbles. The museum will launch an Inspired Concert Series with Mr. Stinky Feet on the 16th and plan a Back-to-School bash next month to mark the end of summer. St. Joseph Post
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ MoDOT announced that the I-229 resurfacing project in St. Joseph is delayed and will begin on Monday, July 21 — work will narrow the lane between Missouri Route 371 and I-29 to one lane. Drivers should expect longer travel times — the project is set to finish in October subject to weather conditions. KQ2
