- ➤ St. Joseph Animal Shelter will host a 4th of July adoption event from July 1 to July 3 at 701 Southwest Lower Lake Road — the shelter will be open from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and dog fees will be set by a price wheel between $5 and $50 while cats and kittens cost $25. KQ2
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On June 22 at 7 a.m., a fire badly damaged B&J Skate Center in St. Joseph and fire crews put out the blaze without injuries—owners Alyson Fisher and her family now wait for an engineer’s review to plan repairs as the community shows strong support. KQ2
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The St. Joseph Police Department added seven new officers from Missouri Western State University’s Law Enforcement Academy on Friday — Sgt. Peters praised Matthew Weathermon’s respectful conduct at Price Chopper and noted he would be a good fit for the department. KQ2
