- ➤ The Noyes Home for Children is hosting Gnomes for Noyes Home, a fundraiser where donors pledge $25 to have a three-foot-tall gnome sent to a friend or family member's house to help fund a Worlds of Fun trip for the children. - ➤ Today the St. Joseph YWCA announced on social media it urgently needs hygiene items — shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand towels, lotions, and blankets — for residents. The shelter is located at 304 North 8th Street in town. KQ2

- ➤ Miss Kansas City Courtney Rowe, a NWMSU graduate and KQ2 news anchor in St. Joseph, was crowned Miss Missouri 2025 on Saturday night in Mexico. She will receive a $14,000 scholarship and compete for Miss America in August in Orlando, Florida while promoting her domestic violence awareness initiative (The Purple Project: Raising Awareness, Saving Lives). EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Buchanan County R-IV School District will rerun a no-tax increase $2 million bond issue this August to fund renovations at Dekalb High School and Rushville Elementary after a county clerk error nullified its April approval. Superintendent Travis Dittemore said the district will review contractor proposals — without entering agreements until the bond is officially approved. St. Joseph Post
