CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A St. Joseph woman aged 37 was charged with DWI causing death, involuntary manslaughter, and other offenses after driving the wrong way on Business 29 near John Glenn Road on May 27 in Andrew County—her crash resulted in a head-on collision that killed a St. Joseph man and injured her daughter. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ St. Joseph will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the new animal services shelter at 3408 South Belt Highway on Tuesday, June 17 at 2:00 p.m.—Mayor John Josendale, animal services staff and Friends of the Animal Shelter will attend. Work will begin on the 13,000-square-foot facility that is planned to open in June 2026, and public services at the current shelter will be suspended during the event. KQ2

- ➤ The St. Joseph Mustangs received an anonymous donation of about 1,000 free tickets for Saturday’s alumni game at 7:00 p.m. + the event honors former employee Erin Hook, and owner Ky Turner said the donation will inspire community members to pay it forward + help spread kindness on and off the field. - ➤ Missouri Western's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee won its second championship at the MIAA SAAC Cup by earning 10,250 points from financial gifts, meeting attendance and community events—beating Nebraska-Kearney and Missouri Southern.
