Mike Grossman, a Hall of Fame Special Olympics athlete, retired after 20 years at Eckard's Home Improvement as friends, family, and co-workers celebrated his service on Thursday.

A bill passed at the close of the legislative session will let St. Joseph use its Land Bank to revitalize dilapidated and vacant homes by easing rules that once only allowed purchasing adjacent properties—Chamber of Commerce President Natalie Hawn said the changes also broaden eligibility for the Nuisance Act and add tax incentives, with the governor expected to sign the law soon.

St. Joseph Health Department announced the clinic will be closed from June 2 to June 9 — immunizations, communicable disease monitoring, tuberculosis testing, pregnancy testing, and temporary Medicaid enrollment will be unavailable.

Other health services remain open and the clinic will reopen on June 10 at 8:00 a.m.
