CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The St. Joseph Symphony announced an upcoming season celebrating Beethoven’s legacy and the 100th anniversary of the Missouri Theatre, featuring internationally acclaimed pianist Sean Chen performing Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto on the final concert. Season subscriptions become available in June while youth concerts and school outreach programs continue across the region. St. Joseph Post
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Missouri Western started interim President Patt Lilly on May 11 (he served on the board for 12 years) to guide the school on a positive path after former President Kennedy retired. The board will work with Lilly through the summer to lay groundwork for a search for a permanent leader. St. Joseph Post
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Missouri River Relief and Spire Serves will lead a cleanup along the Missouri River on Wednesday, May 20. Up to 30 volunteers will meet at French Bottom Access at 9:00 a.m. to remove trash from hard-to-reach river sections and return by 2:45 p.m. St. Joseph Post
