- ➤ City officials will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for eight new pickleball courts Monday, May 18th at 2 PM at 22nd Street between James and Douglas; the project cost $796,000 and replaced tennis courts & added shaded seating, picnic tables, and a water fountain with LED lighting to boost sports facilities. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Missouri Department of Conservation released preliminary turkey season numbers showing 50,730 birds taken by combining the main season from Apr. 20 to May 10 with the youth season. Wild Turkey Biologist Nick Oakley credited a strong carryover and healthy hatching for the high count. St. Joseph Post
