- ➤ Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe said that during the first four weeks of Operation Relentless Pursuit 148 fugitives with outstanding felony warrants were arrested across 37 counties including Buchanan, Clay and Platte—officials added charges ranged from rape to kidnapping, voluntary manslaughter and sex trafficking. - ➤ Today the Albrecht Kemper Museum of Art hosts its Mother’s Day Brunch with savory and sweet crepes and a paper flower making activity—tickets cost $35. - ➤ Central High School assistant principal Shawn Gilliland was named Northwest Missouri Assistant Principal of the Year by the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals on Thursday afternoon — an honor that recognizes her over 20 years of service including 21 years as a math teacher; she joined Central in 2001. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Starting on May 14, residents will use a new entrance at 3405 S. Belt Highway to drop off items at the St. Joseph Recycling Center. Drivers will now be guided down the center aisle between buildings—using signs and traffic cones for help—and the change will stay permanent to allow for new Animal Shelter construction. KQ2
