Cosmic Con celebrated its first successful year and drew over 300 fans to the Time Out Event Center in St. Joseph—owner Curtis Couldry said he plans to hold another event next year while Retro Con is set for June 14.

Area native Elisabeth Wykert grew her social media following with observational and dance comedy during the pandemic and now performs locally—she will host a three-part one-woman show at the Southern Roots Event Center on May 31 that will be recorded as a special.

The Missouri Department of Conservation reported 243 new Chronic Wasting Disease cases in 35 counties, with 7 counties reporting a first case.

Officials said the disease is spreading slowly from the northeast to northwest Mo — hunters and landowners are urged to report any unusual deer behavior.
