  • Missouri Western State University will celebrate 350 graduates on May 10 at the Looney Complex with ceremonies at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The guest speaker is Tim Houlne—a 1986 graduate for whom the new Houlne Center is named.  KQ2

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • St. Joseph City Manager Mike Schumacher, who joined in late January, is leading budget talks by asking why the city spends money and plans to adjust financial strategies. The city’s $200 million budget is set to cover both current and future needs — including funding for a new firetruck — with a first reading on May 27th and a final vote on June 9th.  St. Joseph Post
