CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Police said a person suffered a moderate pelvic wound and had to go to the hospital when a shooting occurred at a residence on Calhoun—North 23rd in St. Joseph Monday afternoon, and they are continuing to investigate the incident. St. Joseph Post
- ➤ Local law enforcement warns residents to ignore calls from scammers who claim to be with the sheriff’s office and threaten jail time if cash is not paid—officials stress using verified numbers to confirm such calls and advise never to share personal information over the phone. St. Joseph Post
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ St. Joseph School District is asking the community for feedback after its Proposition 2 bond measure failed on April 8; district officials are urging residents to complete a 10-question survey (which takes about two minutes) to explain the measure's defeat, with responses due by May 7. KQ2
- ➤ The St. Joseph School District Board of Education will begin accepting applications on Tuesday to fill the seat left vacant by Rick Gehring’s resignation.
