- ➤ At the Northside Parade on St. Joseph Avenue on Saturday, participants donated 875 lbs of food and $1,000 to Second Harvest Community Food Bank. The donations will support local efforts to feed residents in northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas. St. Joseph Post
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Ray's Green Hills at Belt and Karnes announced its closure with a final day on May 16; after 50 years of service, rising costs have forced the change. The business said it will retain staff while shifting to a single store (7014 King Hill Avenue) and plans to renovate the current building are underway. St. Joseph Post
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Missouri Department of Conservation will celebrate Arbor Day by giving away free tree seedlings at the Northwest Regional Office on MoWest campus this Saturday. The event will include a Loess Hills Chapter hike (weather permitting), Woodworker’s Guild displays, and photo opportunities with Smokey Bear, and registration is required. St. Joseph Post
