- ➤ Saint Joseph’s Youth Alliance trainees will join the Missouri YouthBuild Coalition's Capitol Day event at the state capitol in Jefferson City on Tuesday the 21st to showcase construction skills by building park benches, raised garden beds, and picnic tables as part of the Missouri-Building Missouri initiative. - ➤ Missouri Western State University announced a new nursing scholarship for transfer students that offers $500+ renewable funding for up to two years. Eligible applicants must be admitted with nursing declared as their major. St. Joseph Post
- ➤ United Way's Success By 6 is hosting a free monthly information session for caregivers on April 20 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Wyatt Park Christian Church (2623 Mitchell Avenue) where presenters will explain Conscious Discipline to help children learn essential skills. St. Joseph Post

- ➤ MoDOT is urging drivers to slow down and stay alert during National Work Zone Awareness Week — Monday, April 20 to Friday, April 24. The campaign highlights that distractions and speeding risk safety in Missouri work zones. St. Joseph Post
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Crews with E.L. Crawford Construction tore down light poles Friday at the former Reed Chevrolet sales lot as the first step toward demolition. City and contractor sources said there are no solid construction plans yet for the property+multiple investors own the land. St. Joseph Post
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Lincoln Goodwin, one of Benton’s top basketball players, signed his letter of intent to play at UMKC under coach Mark Turgeon; he plans to continue his career close to home after a strong season at Benton (he scored 1,947 career points). St. Joseph Post
- ➤ Renovations at Phil Welch Stadium are nearly complete after a million-dollar upgrade that added new, wider box seats and steel benches. President Ky Turner said the feedback is positive and Opening Day is set for May 27 against the Kansas City Monarchs. St. Joseph Post
