- ➤ The 12th annual Run/Walk for the Paws 5K, benefiting Friends of the Animal Shelter, kicks off at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, from the parking lot near Bode Ice Arena + Phil Welch Stadium with a route reaching Bartlett Park, offering races for kids, pets and adults. St. Joseph Post
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ At City Hall on Friday, Mar. 27, officials unsealed a historic time capsule (exactly 100 years after it was sealed) to reveal artifacts from the 1920s, including newspapers, personal mementos, and educational records. A special exhibit featuring these items will open in the coming weeks. St. Joseph Post

- ➤ Missouri Western State University will host a Spring Senior Exhibition at the Drew Brown Art Gallery on Friday, Apr. 3 — the free event will display creative work by graduating art, journalism, and graphic design students until May 1. St. Joseph Post
- ➤ North Central Missouri College — Savannah campus — is set to host the Missouri State SkillsUSA Robotics Automation Contest on Friday, April 3. Two-person teams will design and build robotic work cells and defend their solutions before industry judges. St. Joseph Post

- ➤ The annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast is scheduled for Thursday, May 7 at Civic Arena; it will feature world-renowned cellist George Dennehy (born without arms) who overcame challenges to share his inspiring journey with local leaders and pastors. St. Joseph Post

6-8 p.m. — Missouri Theater — Fundraiser — Annual dance concert featuring local companies raising funds for the Voices of Courage Child Advocacy Center.
