City Manager Mike Schumacher said that construction on cell eight of the St. Joseph city landfill is 77% complete with M-Con now moving to the next phase—using clay, sand and piping—and that crews have begun work on cell nine to secure future operations.

Schumacher noted that the approved space by the D-N-R and the contributions of local teams will keep the landfill running for years.

Missouri Western named Brooks McKowen as its new men's basketball head coach, making him the program's seventh leader.
