- ➤ A shooting in the 600 block of North 23rd Street around noon on Sunday resulted in no injuries and police detained a man and a woman in their 20s after a neighbor reported shots fired during an apparent domestic dispute. St. Joseph Post

- ➤ In honor of Women’s History Month, Professor Petronilla Sylvester at Missouri Western State University teaches new courses on access to justice and civil rights to help students learn their rights—she was honored with the 2024 Workplace Leadership award from Women of Excellence. KQ2
- ➤ Dean L. Hubbard, who led Northwest Missouri State University from 1984 to 2009, died Sunday evening at his Kansas City home at age 85 after battling kidney disease.
