- ➤ Big Brothers Big Sisters of St. Joseph will host its annual Empower Auction from 6 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, March 14 at inspireU Children's Discovery Center (521 Felix St). The event will honor local leaders and raise funds for youth mentoring through live and silent auctions. KQ2
- ➤ The St. Joseph YMCA will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for its new aquatic center & indoor gymnasium on March 24, led by CEO Tammy Killin. Production is expected to finish by fall 2027. KQ2
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Professor David McMahan from Missouri Western State University received a leadership listening award from the Global Listening Center based in Kolkata and London. His work includes leading training sessions with the Cayman Islands and the Global Listening Festival, highlighting his influence in international communication. KQ2

- ➤ Local standout Noah Cameron, named Royals Bruce Rice Pitcher of the Year last season, is now in spring training in Surprise, Arizona to compete for a rotation spot this spring. He finished his rookie year with a 9-7 record and a 2.99 ERA, including a near no-hitter debut. St. Joseph Post
