- ➤ The Missouri Department of Conservation is hosting National Kids to Parks Day at Corby Pond in St. Joseph on May 16 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Families can pre-register or walk in while all fishing gear is supplied. St. Joseph Post
- ➤ Mosaic Life Care employee Suzanne Goddard was honored with the Servant’s Heart Award today for her compassionate care, including adopting a patient's dog; she donated $500 to Friends of the Animal Shelter (supporting pet medical care and adoption efforts) in Saint Joseph. KQ2
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Albrecht Kemper Museum of Art will host its annual Regional High School Exhibition on March 1 from 1 to 4 p.m., featuring works by young artists from northwest Missouri and an awards ceremony at 2 p.m. The exhibit will run until April 12. St. Joseph Post
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ St. Joseph School District’s finance committee gathered community feedback Tuesday on the Citizens' Guide to clarify how revenue is generated and spending is allocated. The committee will reconvene in April after spring break and expects the February budget amendment to show operating fund improvements. KQ2
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The St. Joseph School District Board of Education reviewed policies for outside organizations to use its facilities & discussed updating guidelines to clear up gym availability. Director Shannon Nolte explained the current process while board member Mike Moore urged more flexibility. KQ2
