CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ St. Joseph will host an expanded 2026 Juneteenth Celebration from May 15 through June 21 with a series of events including a golf tournament, play, race, gala, parade, talent show, and family picnic (funded by a $53,430 Missouri Division of Tourism grant). St. Joseph Post
- ➤ Savannah is one of 16 Missouri towns competing for a spot in the Missouri Humanities’ Small Town Showcase, a program that spotlights local history and culture through podcasts and films. The contest comes after the applicant population limit was raised to 25,000 in celebration of the U.S. semiquincentennial. St. Joseph Post

- ➤ Missouri gas prices have plateaued after Winter Storm Fern with regular unleaded averaging $2.49 statewide—but in St. Joseph motorists now pay $2.37 per gallon, down from $2.71 a year ago. St. Joseph Post

- ➤ The Rolling Hills Library at Belt Highway will close on March 15 and then move to its new Riverside Branch at the south end of Mosaic Court, with opening expected in April 2026 — patrons are invited to share library memories on Facebook. KQ2
