- ➤ The Junior League of St. Joseph will host its 3rd annual Women’s Forum on March 7 at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art, featuring local female leaders with keynote speaker Elisabeth Wykert and a panel discussion designed to empower professional growth. - ➤ Four Buchannan Co Sheriff's Department officers will take part in the Maryville Polar Plunge on Feb. 21 at Mozingo Lake to support Special Olympics Missouri (supporting 12,000 athletes statewide). The fundraiser invites residents to donate and dress in costumes as they plunge into icy water. St. Joseph Post

- ➤ 816Live! will perform MJ- The Illusion, a full-scale recreation of Michael Jackson's Dangerous Tour, at the historic Missouri Theatre on Saturday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m. Michael Knight leads the event with a live band & dancers to showcase Jackson's iconic showmanship. KQ2
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Scholarship applications are open on Scholar-Link for 2026 for high school seniors and college students — the Community Foundation began accepting submissions Jan. 15 with a deadline of Mar. 2. St. Joseph Post
- ➤ MoWest men's basketball players visited Cameron Intermediate School right across U.S. Highway 36 to thank students after Education Day in December — they shared autographed posters, lunch and recess play to connect with local fans. KQ2
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ MoDOT thanks citizens for helping clear roads during recent winter storms by traveling 75 to 80% below normal levels, which allowed crews to work quickly and safely. Officials urge drivers to check road conditions and plan ahead as snow and ice may persist on many secondary routes. St. Joseph Post

- ➤ MSHSAA announced host sites for state basketball sectionals from March 2 to March 14 + games include Blue Springs on March 13 and Liberty North on March 14, with state championships set in Columbia later in March.
