- ➤ At its Aug. 8 board meeting at the historic Wyeth Tootle Mansion, the St. Joseph Performing Arts Association created the Pat and Carroll Cathey Award to honor donor support for local arts and celebrated former board member Pat Cathey; the award will be given to future supporters. - ➤ United Way of Greater St. Joseph invites volunteers to read with students later this month at seven local elementary schools. The program aims to boost literacy by engaging parents, college students, and retirees (among others) in hands-on reading sessions. St. Joseph Post
- ➤ The St. Joseph School District finance committee met Tuesday to review the (KPM) financial audit report, aiming to clear up community misunderstandings and improve funding strategies without a tax increase. Assistant Superintendent Robert Hedgecorth noted the committee also discussed a potential shift in the district’s high school model. KQ2
