EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Missouri Western's president, Elizabeth Kennedy, recalled on Tuesday how the campus never shut down classes and used weekly community calls & expert advice to manage COVID-19 challenges when she first assumed office. She said the experience taught how to navigate uncertainty and make quick decisions. St. Joseph Post
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of St. Joseph is working with Community Missions and the Police Department to offer shelter and services for those living in outdoor encampments, using outreach before any clearance to maintain safety and dignity—City Council will adopt a resolution soon to fund local agencies through HUD grants. - ➤ Public Works continues work at Rosecrans Memorial Airport as a new runway and terminal are operational while a higher air traffic control tower awaits FAA equipment. The upgrades will help the 139th Airlift Wing and serve local businesses that use the airport as the city’s key gateway. St. Joseph Post
